STUDENT PLACEMENTS
Please note that we are currently on a freeze for Student Placements.
Meta Centre places up to 3 qualifying students per year in student placements. Drawn from universities, community colleges and secondary schools, they assist staff in class or residential settings.
We have placed students from the following programs: Humber College DSW & SSW, York University BSW, Ryerson BSW, York/Seneca Rehabilitation Worker, University of Guelph/Humber ECE & Family & Community Social Services, George Brown Behaviour Science Technology just to name a few.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
The following are mandatory requirements for all those interested in completing their volunteer placement(s) at Meta Centre:
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- First Aid Certification – Level C
- A completed Vulnerable Persons Check
- Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification
- Participate in Meta Centre Student Placement/Volunteer orientation
ELIGIBILITY:
Students must me enrolled in a Human Services Field:
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Social Services Worker
- Personal Support Worker
- Developmental Services Worker
- Child and Youth Worker
