Around the World Fall Gala 2021

Meta Centre is an innovative & highly successful not-for-profit social services agency, with over 30 years of experience providing services and quality care for approximately 600 adults, youths and children with special needs, in the GTA. Although there is much to celebrate as we continue to meet the growing demand for quality care, we have also been dealing with the additional pressures caused by the current pandemic; we need your help now more than ever.

The Meta Gala Fundraiser has become our signature event; however, this year, due to the continued uncertainty of the COVID-19 risk in our community, we have decided to host this event virtually over the week of October 22-29. As we celebrate this event, the Virtual Meta Gala will raise funds to cover costs and provide resources to our staff and the people we support.

Online Auction

We’re excited to host our Online Auction as part of our 2021 Around the World Gala. Please note that this Auction is open to all community members! Our Auction will be open from Oct 22 at 9:00am and will close at 9:00pm on October 29th.

*When browsing the items, you will see regular bids and sealed bids. For the sealed bids, you can place only one bid without seeing any other bids. Winners for the sealed bids will be notified at the end of the auction. Make it your best bid!

Around the World Culinary Experience

Meta Foundation presents TWO exclusive and authentic Culinary Cooking Experiences
as part of our 2021 “Around the World” Fall Gala.

Travel to Tuscany and/or Mexico in a private virtual cooking class with some of the top chefs in the world!
Each ticket will include an invite to your exclusive culinary experience. For $150 per person, you will receive:

A monogramed shopping bag delivered to your door with all fresh ingredients needed to carry out the recipe on the day of the class & an invitation and details for your Virtual Cooking class.

Cooking in Tuscany will take place Saturday October 30th at 1:00pm

Chicca has been teaching Tuscan cooking classes for over 20 years in her farmhouse located on The Wine Road that leads to Bolgheri, known for some of the finest wines in the world.

Cooking in Mexico will take place Thursday October 28th at 6:00pm

Experience the ultimate in cooking vacations. The Sazón cooking school is housed in a magnificent 18th-century mansion. Study the bold flavors and rich history of regional Mexican favourites, or learn the techniques to creating an elegant modern masterpiece.

& CHICKEN TINGA RAGOUT RED ENCHILADAS

If you have attended a Meta Foundation event in the past few years, you will have noticed a special booth set up where we highlight real DREAMS of the the amazing people we support. Guests can purchase individual dream experiences and make these dreams come true!

This year Meta is doing something extra special for guests who support making DREAMS come true! For every $100 Universal Yums ticket purchased, guests will receive an exclusive Universal Yums Holiday Box delivered to their door! This box sends your tastebuds to multiple countries around the world. 100% of proceeds from the Universal Yums tickets will go towards the Dreams Fund.
