Jim has served on the Meta Centre Board of Directors since 1996. He is a graduate of McMaster University and worked for IBM Canada for 46 years, retiring as the Manager of Contracts and Negotiations
Jim was the President and Co-Founder of Concerned Parents of Toronto Inc., a support and advocacy group for families and friends of individuals with a dual diagnosis of intellectual disabilities and mental health needs. He served on the Board of the Ontario Chapter of The National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD) for 13 years and was President for over 25 years with the Friday Night Social Club, a weekly recreational program for adults with special needs.
Jim and his wife Elgi have two adult children with intellectual disabilities who receive support from the Meta Centre. They have advocated for those with special needs for the past 50 years.
